Join the Sustainable High School Initiative!

We first were elected as the student government of Saint Anthony High School, and we always knew we wanted to do something big. Throughout our administration we developed a plan called Sustainable College, as an institution, we contributed to the 2030 Agenda and we were able to implement projects oriented on 14 of the SDGs working directly on educational sustainability. Our work was focused on environmental campaigns, social and economic aid campaigns for the population of Costa Rican, Campaign among students we support: coordination to help public school students in the midst of the current economic crisis in Covid-19, Drinking Water, quality of education, and School Union.
Students of all grades, during the implementation of the sustainable school project, were surprised that small actions could collectively generate a great impact, either for the environment or society. We´ve worked for sustainable development in education as students for the past two years, and we’ve seen that if sustainability is something that people learn in school, it will eventually become something that they will continue to do in life, from recycling to defending human rights, promoting gender equality, implementing solidarity and contributing to democracy and peace. However, sometimes they don’t have the tools or the urge to go into it, that is why we want to help.
